Release Date 18.03.2026
What a week! At GDC in San Francisco we got to premiere our new cinematic trailer as part of the Future Games Show…
We’re still getting used to having what we consider to be one of the best possible trailers SEED could hope for! Overseen by Shuruq Tramontini, Klang’s Art Director, the team at Klang got to collaborate with the studio Chromosphere in Los Angeles. Inspired by boundless life and the endless stories generated by SEED, the result is soundtracked by none other than Björk, one of the world’s most incredible artists.
We're going to write more soon about the whole process and share behind the scenes of the trailer, but for now there’s nothing else for it - go watch the trailer immediately:
The Dev Voice
David Magnussen is a legend at Klang, one of the longest serving Klanger he has done the music and sound for SEED and got to put his life long music experience and talent to mixing Bjork:
“It’s a challenge to edit and touch something that is so precious, added to that of course is the fact that I’m Icelandic. You also don’t want to chop something up so that it loses anything. Human Behaviour is a song that has been stuck in my head since 1994 - you can imagine when it came out it was everywhere - so it’s a real pleasure to get to work with it now. And on a project I've been so passionate about.”
The Week in Numbers
Let's talk raw, hard data. The pulse of Avesta remains steady as we see a significant shift in population distribution this week:
Total Playtime: 1161 Hours
The Great Migration: 13 Seedlings relocated across biome borders.
New societies: 2 New Societies established.
Resource Trend: Increased demand for structural materials near new settlement zones - said the robot.
The Patch Highlight: Quality of Life & Economy
While the world watched our new trailer, the dev team deployed 6 hotfixes to ensure your experience in Avesta remains stable and fair. Here’s a top level summary of some of the big patches:
Seedling Autonomy: Fixed an issue where prioritized schedules caused Seedlings to ignore player commands. They’ll now listen to you while still managing their needs.
The "Wobbly Cam" Fix: Disabled aggressive default zooming on the free camera to eliminate motion sickness.
Market Integrity: Patched an exploit involving NPC buy/sell orders to keep the global economy balanced.
Industrial Recovery: Restored crafting recipes for Saw Blades and Drill components, unblocking the construction of Mineral Extractors and Table Saws.
Stability: Resolved the "CTRL + U" UI crash and optimized our Vertex AI integration to keep backend systems efficient
The Forge
The art team as ever are busy. Coming down off the mammoth work on the trailer, we can simply hint at something that’s cooking (possible pun, intended). Check out these animations that are brand spanking new:

The Archive
This week we had an update on Avesta’s encyclopedia all about the Ether. Which was fascinating. Pretty soon they’re going to need to publish a book with all this info! Read more here!
To some Seedlings, the Ether is an almost numinous presence: invisible, instantaneous, and all-knowing. What has been termed Providence by some. To the Avestan historian, it is a reminder that we are still, in many ways, tethered to the ground stations of our ancestors, living our lives through a 1,400km uplink that has in fact its origins across the stars.
