Patch Notes - Release 0.2.10

Release Date 15.06.2026

What’s new in SEED 0.2.10

Foraging and exploration

  • Mushrooms and shrubs now grow back. Roughly every three hours they’re ready to harvest again, so heading out to forage is a real way to keep your stores topped up.

  • Every harvest has a chance to turn up something better — Golden Caps from mushrooms, Nuts from shrubs.

  • Heads-up: food balance is still being tuned. For now every food item fills at least 20% of a need while we get Seedlings’ eating choices right.

  • Harvesting food and other small things from the wild now adds items directly to the inventory of your seedling instead of creating a pile.

  • Harvestable food-objects in the wild, like shrubs, only have 1 maxharvest now

  • The logic in the society creation screen considers tiles around the selected spot to evaluate if there is enough food available in the wider proximity.

Food, cooking and farming

  • We did a broad balance pass on how filling foods are and how quickly they spoil. Building proper farming and production chains matters more than it used to.

  • How long an item lasts before spoiling is now tied to these changes too.

Seedling food preferences

  • Your Seedlings have food they like and dislike, and you can now see those preferences clearly in the UI. Seedlings prefer to eat their likes and avoid their dislikes, though they will still eat dislikes if forced or starving, but they will be sad :(

  • Tastes aren’t fixed. When a Seedling grows into a new life stage, they may leave behind a food preference that no longer fits who they’re becoming.

Two new interests: Sports and Gaming

  • Your Seedlings can now be into Sports or Gaming. Each comes with furniture you can craft, like a gaming station, and its own perks that shape who a Seedling becomes over time.

Baby care in the Scheduler

  • You can finally schedule baby care. Add it to a Seedling’s schedule and they’ll handle feeding, cuddling and play on their own, instead of you watching the crisis alerts stack up.

Quality of life

  • The activity timer now runs across the whole activity instead of resetting at each step, so the estimate actually means something.

  • Every activity got a clearer name and description.

  • The floating info above your Seedlings now sits at head height instead of drifting off above them, and the different elements no longer overlap with each other.

  • The overhead inventory display is cleaner, and you can now switch individual overhead elements off for yourself.

  • Creating a job gives clearer feedback about what’s happening.

Seedling Chat & Conversations

  • No gameplay changes, but we are revamping our LLM infrastructure to be able to make further improvements. You might experience bugs and instability with this release.

Fixes

  • The Sell Orders and Buy Orders tabs in the marketplace no longer show up empty.

  • The Cozy Fridge now slows food spoilage at the same rate as the Minimalist Fridge.

  • Migrating several Seedlings at once no longer causes some Seedlings to disappear.

  • You can now open the contact-support window straight from the login screen.

  • Plots that already have objects on them can be set as claimable, and outdoor blocks can be placed on resource deposits.

  • In Seedling chat, timestamps no longer wrap awkwardly on short messages.
