Release Date: 12/03/2025

🌟 Summary

Big changes have landed on Avesta! New governmental constitutions, resource harvesting and extraction, player-to-seedling chat, and key fixes based on your feedback!

🛠 Major Changes & New Features

New mechanics, major updates, and system changes.

New Empty Societies

  • You now have the opportunity to create societies completely from scratch and take on the role of a society’s founder! Here’s how it works:

    • There will be 15 societies in total—5 curated societies (3 led by Klang, 2 led by the community) and 10 empty societies that players can claim.

    • The first players to join will become Society Leaders and can choose one of the 10 empty societies to establish their own community.

    • After that, all new players must choose one of the 15 societies to join.

⚠️ Important: If you choose to join an empty society rather than one of the 5 curated ones, you’ll truly be on your own. The gameplay will be much harder, as you won’t have an established community for support—you’ll need to bring your own help to survive and build from the ground up. For this test, we strongly encourage players to join one of the curated societies instead of starting from scratch.

Empty Map

  • These empty societies will start with an empty map, which will only contain:

    • A Campus with limited resources and 3 Delivery Drones

    • An Anarchist Constitution as the default government structure

Society Customization

  • You can customize the name, description, and icon of your society, and these changes will be visible to all other players.

  • To do this, head to the Society Overview Panel.

  • To make changes, you’ll need the permission called “Can Change Society Information”, which can be given to a role when creating it. This role can be obtained if you're:

    • An Anarchist

    • A President (Electoral Autocracy)

    • A Prime Minister (Parliamentary Democracy)

  • Once you have permission, go ahead and make your society stand out!

Increase Population limits

It is possible to increase the population limits of your society by paying 100 pollen. You can do this from the society Overview Panel.

Government Structure & Constitution Changes

  • Empty Societies start with an Anarchist Constitution, which comes with both benefits and risks.

  • At any time, any player can propose a change by starting a ballot from the Society Constitution Tab.

  • One of the main options is the Electoral Autocracy, which functions similarly to the previous government system:

    • Click “Start Ballot” to begin the voting process.

    • If the majority votes in favor, the constitution will be updated.

    • New roles will be assigned, and additional ballots will be held to elect key positions (like President).

  • Changing the Constitution gives you the power to shape your society’s future—just be ready for the votes to count!

Anarchy - A Fresh Start

  • When you join an empty society, there’s no established government—everyone has full control.

  • You can:

    • Construct buildings

    • Take on jobs using society funds

    • Access the campus inbox

    • Make decisions without restrictions

    • Propose and vote on laws

  • This early “anarchist” phase is designed for a small, trusted group. With no rules holding you back, progress feels faster, more dynamic, and more engaging than starting with a predefined government.

Harvesting

You can now collect resources directly from nature on Avesta. Here’s what you can gather:

  • Trees & Stumps – Harvest wood to craft machines or build structures.

  • Rocks – Mine stone to create various items.

  • Bushes – Gather berries and herbs.

Resource Extraction

Once you have arrived in a brand new society you will find that you have some Stone Resource Extractors at the Campus to get you started, however, you can create more using the Crafting Table.

There are several Resource Deposits surrounding your society on the map, these are infinite sources of resources that can be extracted using these machines.

To extract resources from these deposits:

  • Construct a building with an outdoor area that encompasses the deposit.

  • Place an extractor on top of the deposit.

  • Create a job within the building to operate the extractor, assign a Seedling and gather the resources.

Food

There are now several ways to produce food, the easiest of which is to grow food with a Growbox.

At the start, you'll find three Growbox in the Campus Inbox. You can use it to grow berries and herbs by following these steps:

  • Place the Growbox in the Campus or any other building.

  • Set up a crafting task for berries or herbs:

    • Go to Manage → Crafting → Growbox → New Task.

  • Assign a Growbox job in the building where the Growbox is located.

To grow a society more food is needed, one way of doing this is by crafting more Growboxes.

Wood can be obtained by harvesting trees or from the Growbox, while Stone can be gathered by harvesting rocks or extracting it from the Stone Resource Deposit.

To build a Growbox, follow these steps:

  1. Get Wood:

    • Create a Wood Production job in the Growbox.

    • Send seedlings to harvest trees.

  2. Get Stone:

    • Build a structure near a Stone Resource Deposit and create a Stone Extractor job.

    • Send seedlings to harvest rocks.

  3. Place a Crafting Table in the Campus or any other building.

  4. Create a Growbox crafting task in the Crafting Table:

    • Go to Manage → Crafting → Crafting Table → New Task.

  5. Assign a Crafting job in the building that has the Crafting Table.

Construction Materials

Construction materials are necessary to create buildings, and different resources will create different types of building materials.

These materials can come from different places.

  • Resource Deposits: Bricks can be extracted from these deposits.

  • Nature: Harvesting trees provides Wood.

  • Crafting: Use the Crafting Table to create Construction Materials. For example, you can craft Lumber from Wood.

Migration

Unhappy with your current society? Not a problem! You can now migrate to a different society directly from the Society Overview Panel.

Player/Seedling Chat

  • You can now talk to your Seedlings in a chat to find out what they are up to!

Seedling Death

  • If your Seedling goes without food or rest for more than 24 real-world hours, it can die. Seedlings won’t seek shelter as no shelter exists.  Your society can craft their own places where Seedlings can get help.

  • If a Seedling dies without heirs, its properties are transferred to the Society for redistribution.

New Subways

Zoom around the city with Subways! Seedlings travel fast and effortlessly between stations, while the government can add new stations to keep the city connected and thriving. Highlights include:

  • Rapid Transportation: When a Seedling enters a subway station, it is rapidly transported to the station closest to its final destination.

  • Under the Anarchist Constitution, anyone can create new Subways. However, in other government structures, the "Manage Subways" role must first be created, and only those assigned to it will have the ability to build Subways.

Mobile Companion App Updates

  • Improved wallet app

  • Improved health app

  • Added scheduler app

  • Added jobs app

  • Added personal growth app

  • Added player to Seedling chat

  • General improvements for app stability

🌱 Seedling Life & Balance Updates

Family and Households

This feature introduces the ability to form groups and share living space in SEED. Now you can manage households, pool resources, and build a shared legacy. Highlights include:

  • Group creation and Management: You can create and manage groups for your Seedlings, which have a shared wallet for managing expenses.

  • Shared Living Spaces: You can share properties among group members. This means that your Seedlings can live with Seedlings of other players!

  • Collaborative Gameplay: Group members can collaborate together through a new group chat system.

  • Legacy and Inheritance: When a Group Head leaves or passes away, leadership is transferred to a randomly assigned member.

Education

The Education update lets you take charge of your Seedlings’ growth! Guide them through skill-building, personal development, and career paths like never before. Highlights include:

  • Skill Progression: Seedlings can now level up skills like cooking, repairing, and cleaning through activities, improving performance and unlocking bonuses as they progress.

  • Strategic Unlocks: Skills may have prerequisites, so strategically plan your Seedlings' development paths!

  • Create Custom Items: Unleash your creativity with custom food items and production machine variations! Research lets you combine ingredients to craft unique versions of existing food types (like a new soup or french fry recipe) and production machines.

  • Schematics: What we once called Blueprints are now called Schematics. Seedlings will be able to store Schematics in their memory. Seedlings store Schematics permanently with no capacity limit. They gain them instantly through Education or Research.

Say hello to Schematic Manuals! Seedlings can now turn Schematics into tradeable items and study them to unlock new crafting knowledge. Highlights include:

  • Schematics to Manuals: Seedlings can convert Schematics into Manuals at a Research Table by completing a Writing Task, with time varying based on complexity.
